Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, JetBlue Airways, and American Airlines have all indicated they will cut flights in the New York City area this summer as the region, one of the busiest in the U.S., faces a shortage of air traffic controllers.

 

The Canadian carrier will employ its Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet to operate these services.

London City Airport becomes the first major airport in the UK to deploy next generation security scanners for all passengers, enabling travellers to pass through security without removing laptops and liquids from their hand luggage.

Delta’s third Sky Club at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) is by far the largest at Delta’s Minneapolis hub, with seating for more than 450, a first-of-its-kind Sky Deck and more. Recent renovations to Gates G18-G22, including relocated and enlarged restrooms, expanded gate seating areas and new concessions, laid the groundwork for this new Club.

 

United Airlines announces the largest South Pacific network expansion ever to and from the continental US, including the first non-stop flight between San Francisco and Christchurch set to commence on December 1.

 

The machines will be replaced by bag tag stations with iPad tablets, where customers can pay for and tag checked bags.

 

Kuwaiti flag carrier Kuwait Airways will launch a complimentary chauffeur service for its first and business class passengers at its homebase.

The carrier is trialing expanding Sky Club facilities for passengers looking for a quick experience.

 

American Airlines is making some big changes to its long-haul network for this coming winter season.

 

British Airways’ Gatwick-based short-haul subsidiary, BA Euroflyer, has expanded the options available for customers to purchase in Euro Traveller (economy) and launched new seasonal menus in Club Europe (business class).

 

As demand from Canada to international destinations soars, Emirates is responding with the announcement of daily flights from Montreal to Dubai beginning July 5.

 

The 7,390 sqm space overlooks the airport’s indoor tropical garden The ORCHARD, and can accommodate up to 707 guests, creating an overall facility for up to 1,600 passengers.

 

IHG Hotels & Resorts is set to launch the Vignette Collection in the UK, with the signing of The Halyard at Ropewalks Liverpool.
