CTM takes home multiple industry awards worldwide in 2021

Despite a challenging 18 months for the travel industry, Corporate Travel Management (CTM) has announced several industry award wins around the globe for excellence in travel management, event and meeting services, and leisure travel, as well as for the company’s innovative online booking technology, Lightning.

“These prestigious awards demonstrate that we have continued to deliver for our customers when they need it the most, in spite of this difficult period for the travel industry,” says Laura Ruffles, CTM’s Global Chief Operating Officer. “We’re proud that these awards acknowledge the incredible hard work, adaptability, and agility of our employees throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and our ongoing commitment to delivering meaningful solutions for our customers.”

CTM was named the Leading Travel Management Company 2021 in both North America and Australia in the World Travel Awards which serve to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry.

CTM’s Lightning online booking tool, built for the next generation of business travel, has won two awards for excellence in Europe and North America: Best Corporate Booking Platform at the Business Travel Awards Europe 2021, and the Innovation Award for Travel Management at the SmartBrief Innovation Awards for the Business Traveler 2021.

“Our focus on developing new global technology solutions to meet current and future market needs is central to our global technology strategy and a focus area for our customers, particularly around pandemic-era travel needs and sustainability solutions,” says Mike Kubasik, CTM’s Global Chief Technology Officer. “We know that owning our own technology allows us to quickly shift and adapt our strategy to deliver new solutions at maximum speed for our customers, which has been critical during the pandemic.”

CTM’s specialist event division, Event Travel Management (ETM), was named to MeetingsNet’s CMI 25 List, a listing of the largest and most influential third-party meeting planning companies. ETM was also named a finalist in the 2021 Cvent Excellence Awards for effective crisis management using a Strategic Meetings Management Program (SMMP).

Allure Travel by CTM, CTM’s leisure travel division, took home the award for North America’s Leading Travel Agency 2021 in the World Travel Awards. Allure Travel by CTM has also been nominated for the World’s Leading Travel Agency in the 2021 World Travel Awards, the highest possible honor.
